TL;DR

Klaytn is helping young people turn their blockchain dreams into reality by sponsoring the PolyFinTech 100 Hackathon in Singapore.

Building games, NFTs, and so much more in the metaverse is practically impossible without young, creative minds! As more millennials and Gen Z jump aboard the cryptocurrency train, Klaytn is helping them claim their own space in the industry.

We are starting with the PolyFinTech 100 Hackathon in Singapore. That’s where some of the country’s brightest minds will gather to tackle research challenges and real-world problems! By sponsoring the event, our team of experts will be sharing authentic challenges and mentoring participants through workshops and clinic sessions.

Think NFTs, DAO, and the creator economy — competing teams will be pushed to build all sorts of tools and applications! Klaytn’s Head of Technology Advocacy, Neo Yiu (a familiar face here at Klaytn), is set to be among the panel of judges.

While the future of the metaverse is still very much being developed, it’s becoming increasingly clear that the younger generation will lead the way. The PolyFinTech 100 Hackathon will see many up-and-coming developers reimagine and create innovative and purposeful solutions. Who knows? Some of those projects will become big names someday. And Klaytn will be right there supporting their metaverse dreams!

In efforts to introduce the Klaytn Hackathon to our community, we had Klaytn Hackathon Meetup in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam on April 25th. We had over 80 developers and service providers gathered together at Dreamplex 195.

We had a great panel discussion with Jerome Lee, the Director of Ground X,
Bobby Liu, the Founder of Topica Foundation Accelerator, Nicole Nguyen, the Head of APAC Asia Blockchain Review, and Charles Lee, the Co-Founder of Coder School on how major cities around Asia are transforming as blockchain hubs. Especially, as Vietnam emerges as the next blockchain hub for blockchain market in Southeast Asia, and as Klaytn targets Asia to be the primary target region for driving mainstream adoption of blockchain, we wanted to invite many local developers to join Klaytn Hackathon to create BApps by utilizing the recently launched Klaytn public testnet, Baobab.

Anybody with great ideas for BApps can participate by registering on the official Klaytn Hackathon homepage by May 31st.

And… here’s the footage that captures the HCMC meetup from the very beginning till the end. Enjoy!

Thank you!

Cheers,
Team Klaytn

About Klaytn

Klaytn is a public blockchain focused on the metaverse, gamefi, and the creator economy. Officially launched in June 2019, it is the dominant blockchain platform in South Korea and is now undergoing global business expansion from its international base in Singapore.

These business expansion activities are supported by the Klaytn Growth Fund, which aims to grow the ecosystem of companies built on Klaytn. The fund is managed and disbursed by Klaytn Foundation, a Singapore-based non-profit organization established in August 2021.

Hi all,

Our very first Klaytn Hackathon kicked off on April 12th, and in efforts to introduce it to our greater community, we had a series of Klaytn Hackathon meetups around various cities in Asia.

Back on April 27th, we joined Asia Blockchain Review and BlockDevs Asia at Acceler8 Coworking Space in Metro Manila for ‘Smart Contract Platforms Today: Looking Beyond Ethereum’ meetup to introduce the Klaytn Hackathon. As Manila emerges as the next blockchain hub for blockchain market in Southeast Asia, we wanted to invite many local developers to join Klaytn Hackathon to create BApps by utilizing the recently launched Klaytn public testnet, Baobab. Further, the Philippines is the center for many international organizations and institutions, and we plan to strengthen the Klaytn community for our blockchain social impact initiatives.

Cheers,

Continuing our Klaytn Hackathon meetup in the Philippines, we participated in another meetup in Bangkok, Thailand back on May 2nd. This time, we joined our initial service partner, SIX Network at bitfish.

SIX Network is a project focused on reinventing the digital economy with better infrastructure. SIX Network team develops SIXR to be a lightweight wallet equipped with features designed for token utilization, specifically for individuals who use their creativity to produce content for the digital and creative industry.

We Klaytn continue working with our initial service partners, who, a mission to create substantial real use cases, work towards further reinforcing the Klaytn ecosystem by releasing their BApps (Blockchain Applications) on our platform. They also prioritize their efforts to expand Kakao’s locally proven business success in producing massive-user based popular services further into global markets. In addition to introducing our Klaytn Hackathon, together with our partner SIX Network, we were able to connect with the greater community of developers, investors, and other tech influencers as well as local educational institutions.
