Last month, together with Samsung Electronics, we launched the KlaytnPhone, the blockchain variant of Samsung Electronics’ latest flagship smartphone series Galaxy Note10. To further strengthen our collaboration with Samsung, we are also attending Samsung Developer Conference 2019, which is taking place in San Jose, California on October 29th and 30th.

SDC (Samsung Developer Conference) brings together thousands of developers, creators, and technologists to explore the newest tech and imagine what’s possible in the future. The two-day conference features exciting keynote announcements and technical sessions by technical leaders.

We are running an exhibit booth to introduce our collaboration with Samsung Blockchain Keystore, which earlier added support for Klaytn so that Klaytn’s token KLAY can be stored and managed in Samsung’s Galaxy S10 and Note10 smartphone series. Klaytn, along with Bitcoin, is the second blockchain platform to be supported by Samsung Blockchain Keystore, which initially supported Ethereum. Samsung Blockchain Keystore puts consumers in control of their data by providing a platform to consolidate and easily manage private information and digital keys with vault-like security.

Once you visit our booth, you will also be able to experience the recently launched KlaytnPhone. As the first and only smartphone specialized to a blockchain platform, the KlaytnPhone provides an easy and seamless experience for users interacting with blockchain-powered services. The phone has 5 pre-loaded Klaytn-based blockchain applications along with KlaytnPhone Wallet, which supports Klaytn’s token KLAY and KLAY compatible tokens. This wallet is linked with Samsung Blockchain Keystore, which is managed by Samsung Knox, the Samsung’s defense-grade security platform designed to protect from chipset to software. KlaytnPhone is available for purchase online in Korea at www.klaytnphone.com and all buyers are given 2,000 KLAY with 2,000 additional KLAY given on a first-come basis.

Furthermore, the Klaytn team members will be available at the booth for two full days, so feel free to stop by and talk to us should you have any question on our technology, business, brand, and ecosystem. Plus, make sure to claim your Klaytn goods!

We will continue working together with Samsung to develop many more opportunities to bring the benefits of blockchain. Come visit our booth at SDC!

In efforts to introduce the Klaytn Hackathon to our community, we had Klaytn Hackathon Meetup in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam on April 25th. We had over 80 developers and service providers gathered together at Dreamplex 195.

We had a great panel discussion with Jerome Lee, the Director of Ground X,
Bobby Liu, the Founder of Topica Foundation Accelerator, Nicole Nguyen, the Head of APAC Asia Blockchain Review, and Charles Lee, the Co-Founder of Coder School on how major cities around Asia are transforming as blockchain hubs. Especially, as Vietnam emerges as the next blockchain hub for blockchain market in Southeast Asia, and as Klaytn targets Asia to be the primary target region for driving mainstream adoption of blockchain, we wanted to invite many local developers to join Klaytn Hackathon to create BApps by utilizing the recently launched Klaytn public testnet, Baobab.

Anybody with great ideas for BApps can participate by registering on the official Klaytn Hackathon homepage by May 31st.

And… here’s the footage that captures the HCMC meetup from the very beginning till the end. Enjoy!

Thank you!

Cheers,
Team Klaytn

Hi all,

Our very first Klaytn Hackathon kicked off on April 12th, and in efforts to introduce it to our greater community, we had a series of Klaytn Hackathon meetups around various cities in Asia.

Back on April 27th, we joined Asia Blockchain Review and BlockDevs Asia at Acceler8 Coworking Space in Metro Manila for ‘Smart Contract Platforms Today: Looking Beyond Ethereum’ meetup to introduce the Klaytn Hackathon. As Manila emerges as the next blockchain hub for blockchain market in Southeast Asia, we wanted to invite many local developers to join Klaytn Hackathon to create BApps by utilizing the recently launched Klaytn public testnet, Baobab. Further, the Philippines is the center for many international organizations and institutions, and we plan to strengthen the Klaytn community for our blockchain social impact initiatives.

Cheers,
Team Klaytn

Continuing our Klaytn Hackathon meetup in the Philippines, we participated in another meetup in Bangkok, Thailand back on May 2nd. This time, we joined our initial service partner, SIX Network at bitfish.

SIX Network is a project focused on reinventing the digital economy with better infrastructure. SIX Network team develops SIXR to be a lightweight wallet equipped with features designed for token utilization, specifically for individuals who use their creativity to produce content for the digital and creative industry.

We Klaytn continue working with our initial service partners, who, a mission to create substantial real use cases, work towards further reinforcing the Klaytn ecosystem by releasing their BApps (Blockchain Applications) on our platform. They also prioritize their efforts to expand Kakao’s locally proven business success in producing massive-user based popular services further into global markets. In addition to introducing our Klaytn Hackathon, together with our partner SIX Network, we were able to connect with the greater community of developers, investors, and other tech influencers as well as local educational institutions.

Cheers,
